Mons & Kanjis are on the wall

It's nice to have another quilt leaving the Ufo pile and hanging on the wall. The Mons & Kanjis Quilt is done. 

Es ist schön wieder einen Quilt zu haben, der den Ufo Stoß verlassen hat und jetzt an der Wand hängt. Der Mons & Kanjis Quilt ist fertig.

Japanese Mons & Kanjis

The japanese Mons embroidery is done, the meanings are written under the Kanjis. Now how to quilt this piece? Maybe in the ditch and shells in the borders? Let's see with what I'll come up. 

Die japanischen Mons sind gestickt und die Bedeutung der Zeichen steht darunter geschrieben. Nun wie werde ich dieses Stück quilten? Vielleicht in der Naht und Halbkreise=Muscheln im Rand? Warten wir's ab was am Ende herauskommt. 

A fast Finish

Today I found a quilt in my Ufo pile which was almost done. All that was missing was a label on the back. I love this kind of Ufos and wished I had more of them instead those plain tops.

Heute fand ich in meinem Ufo Haufen einen Quilt, der fast fertig war. Alles was fehlte war das Label auf der Rückseite. Ich liebe diese Art von Ufos und wünschte ich hätte mehr solcher Exemplare anstatt nur einfache Tops.

Make Over of a WIP

In the last days I looked around in my Ufo closet and found another piece, which could need a pep up through embroidery. No idea how old it is. The top was already sandwiched and hand quilted in the ditch. 

In den letzten Tagen fand ich in meinem Ufo Kasten ein anderes Stück, das ein bisschen Aufpeppen durch Stickerei vertragen könnte. Keine Idee wie alt es ist. Das Top war bereits mit Vlies und Rückseite versehen und in den Nähten handgequiltet. 

Also a few squares were hand quilted with japanese motives. I decided to rip all out and start over. Of course it did hurt destroying my hand work, but if you want another result, you have to take the consequences. Goodbye nice hand stitches!

Auch ein paar Quadrate waren bereits mit japanischen Motiven gequiltet. Ich entschied mich dafür alle Stiche wieder aufzutrennen und von Neuem zu beginnen. Klar tat es weh meine Handarbeit zu zerstören, aber wenn du ein anderes Ergebnis willst, musst du die Konsequenzen tragen. Tschüß ihr schönen Handstiche.

So far I have embroidered 10 squares with japanese Mons, 6 more to go. Stay tuned for new photos in the next days.

Dear Jane finished

I am proud to announce that my 9 Block Dear Jane Ufo from 2001 is finished. The embroidery and quilting was a lot of work and I am glad the top was already done. I am not sure if I would have done this quilt again nowadays. Here is the result.

Mit Stolz verkündige ich die Fertigstellung meines 9 Blöcke Dear Jane Ufos aus 2001. Das Besticken und Quilten war eine Menge Arbeit und ich bin froh, dass das Top schon genäht war. Ich bin nicht sicher ob ich diesen Quilt heutzutage nochmals gemacht hätte. Hier ist das Endergebnis.

Arachnophobia

if this word is matching you, don't read or look further. 

Today I could watch the fight of the titans or better said the spiders over my head. A bit scary but also interesting. 

Falls dieses Wort auf dich zutrifft, lese und schaue bitte nicht weiter. 

Heute konnte ich dem Kampf der Titanen, oder besser gesagt der Spinnen, über meinem Kopf zusehen. Es war ein bißchen aufregend aber auch interessant. 

First they saw each other and put on their defense pose.

Zuerst sahen sie sich und nahmen eine Abwehrhaltung ein.

Then they met and sniffed at each other like dogs.

Dann trafen sie sich und beschnupperten sich wie Hunde. 

Finally both spiders went back to their webs in the trees. 

Schließlich trennten sich die beiden Spinnen wieder und gingen in ihre Netze  in den Bäumen zurück.

I had hoped for more action, but as a pet lover I am glad there was no harm, and of course these critters did not land on my head.

Ich hatte gehofft mehr Aktion zu erleben, aber als Tierliebhaber bin ich über den friedvollen Ausgang froh und auch dass die lieben Tierchen nicht auf meinem Kopf gelandet sind. 

Rainbow

Yesterday after rain that's what the sky looked here at 9 p.m. There was also to see the other end of the rainbow, but I could not get the full view onto one photo. The color is really true. What luck that I could catch it. Isn't nature wonderful?

Nach einem Regen sah gestern um 9h abends der Himmel hier so aus. Das andere Ende des Regenbogens war auch zu sehen, aber ich konnte die volle Ansicht nicht auf das Foto bekommen. Die Farben sind echt und ich hatte Glück sie so einzufangen. Ist die Natur nicht wundervoll?
