Crochet Beaded Necklace

Two weeks ago Susanne, a member of my embroidery group, showed her beaded ropes. That reminded me that I had done this kind of crocheting years ago, although not so fancy patterns which are available now. Of course my interest was aroused. When I came home I had to browse the Net and found hundreds of patterns and even a software to download for free. My new playtime was born. 

Vor 2 Wochen zeigte Susanne, ein Mitglied meiner Stickgruppe, ihre Häkelketten. Das erinnerte mich daran vor Jahren ebenfalls solche Ketten gemacht zu haben, allerdings in nicht so tollen Mustern wie es sie heute gibt. Natürlich war meine Interesse sofort geweckt. Als ich nach Hause kam bin ich sofort am Computer gesessen, habe hunderte von Mustern und sogar ein Programm, frei zum Runterladen gefunden. Ein neuer Zeitvertreib war geboren. 

I searched through my beads for the right size and matching colors. 1-2-3-go - thousands of beads went on the thread until I had 33 rapports stringed, equaling 6 yards in length.

Ich durchsuchte meinen Perlenvorrat um die richtige Grösse und passende Farben zu finden. Dann ging es los. Tausende Perlen wanderten auf den Faden bis 33 Musterwiederholungen aufgefädelt waren, was in der Länge 6 Meter ergab.

Here are already 12 inches crocheted, still 6 inch to go. Don't ask how many times I had to go back a few rows cause I missed a stitch and the pattern did not match. Probably I did double the work out of the mistakes. 

Hier habe ich bereits 30 cm gehäkelt, aber noch 15 cm vor mir. Fragt nicht wie oft ich ein paar Reihen auftrennen musste, weil ich eine Masche verfehlt habe und dadurch das Muster nicht mehr stimmte. Wahrscheinlich habe ich dadurch die Kette 2 mal gehäkelt. 

Finally it's done and I am proud of my work. There were still enough beads stringed for a bracelet. More ideas are already spinning around in my head.

Endlich fertig und ich bin stolz auf mein Werk. Es waren noch genug aufgefädelte Perlen für ein dazu passendes Armband vorhanden. Mittlerweile habe ich auch genug Ideen im Kopf für mehr.

Crocheted Pentagon Flower

I am still dealing with health issues and therefore have to step back a bit with my activities. While surfing around to find information about the Penrose patterns I came across a tutorial for a crocheted pentagon. Of course I had to give it a try and meanwhile I made 10 of these flowers. I don't know what I will do with them, but for the moment this is not important to me. The size of one flower is about 1 1/4 inch and it's easy and fast to do.

Ich habe noch immer gesundheitliche Probleme und muss deshalb meine Aktivitäten etwas zurück nehmen. Während ich im Netz Informationen zu den Penrose Mustern gesucht habe, stolperte ich über die Anleitung für ein gehäkeltes Fünfeck. Natürlich musste ich es ausprobieren und mittlerweile habe ich 10 solcher Blumen gehäkelt. Ich weiß zwar noch nicht was ich damit anfange, aber für den Moment ist das nicht wichtig. Die Größe einer Blume ist ca. 3 cm und sie ist einfach und schnell gemacht.
